ft. Derek Dole (Old Ghosts/Dead Hearts)

“This track is about calling out two faced people that maliciously talk negatively about others behind their back but act friendly to their face. All of my lyrics are based on true stories, and this one is about a culmination of some events I did not appreciate. If you say awful things about someone, you should be able to say it face to face when they confront you and not backpedal to save face. That doesn’t mean you should go up to them and start an argument, but you should not pretend to be their best friend when they walk in the room. The lyrics also have an “easter egg” that ties into our past and future. The guest vocal was graciously provided by Derek Dole of Old Ghosts/Dead Hearts. We have been massive fans of both bands for over a decade, and we draw great amounts of inspiration and respect for them. Having Derek’s voice on this track is a bucket list goal for us and his take sounds exactly how we heard it in our minds. It was the perfect contribution.”

Lyrics

Behind the screens that you cling to for dear life
Your second face slanders every single day and night
No contempt for the hell you conjure on them
Only joy for your weak satisfaction

You're a coward
You won't say it to their face
I want to see the day…

When you confront them with the courage you have in the shadows,
safely hiding from any consequence
But you're too frail to admit it so you'll deny and forget it but when it comes around you'll plummet into cowardice and reject you ever did it.

You're a coward
You won't say it to their face
I want to see the day…

I thought you wanted a war?
The war is over, your misery starts now.

Don't speak any words you can't back up
Don't think we can't see the lies stack up
